GURUGRAM: Affordable housing was launched by Ocean Seven Buildtech Pvt Limited in 2017 with a deadline of 2021 which was further extended to 2023 due to the pandemic.

On Monday, a group of homebuyers of Expressway Towers in Sector 109 met the senior town planner demanding action against the developer for the delay in the completion of the housing project.

Ocean Seven Buildtech Pvt Limited (OSB) launched the affordable housing project in 2017 and promised buyers for possession in 2021. Due to the pandemic, the deadline was extended to 2023.

Allottees told senior town planner Sanjeev Mann that there is no work ongoing on the site and there is less possibility of the project getting completed within the deadline.

DTCP conducted a meeting with the homebuyers on Tuesday and warned of strict action against the realtor as per the law for the delay in delivering the project.

One of the homebuyers, Ajay Kumar said that they are afraid that the developer may abscond and abandon the project after duping 1,089 buyers. The builder has collected 100 percent of the flat cost from us and stopped construction work three years ago. We request the DTCP, H-Rera, the chief minister’s office, and police to intervene.”
